H.ART (@itsamood.22) is the creation of mixed-media, contemporary-abstract artist Helen Clews (she/they).

Helen creates bold, immersive, and textured paintings and collages to connect with viewers and communities, addressing wellbeing deficits through socially informed, community-led efforts.

“I use various mediums, including household gloss paints, acrylic and spray paint, Indian and drawing inks, charcoal, graphite, collaging materials, and fine liners or posca pens. My work intuitively explores the combination of intense identity changes, isolation, growth, and empowerment during grief; with an aim to balance spontaneity, creativity, and skill.”

Helen understands the benefits of creating art as a valuable therapeutic outlet, informed by lived experiences and lately, the sudden deaths of both parents during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
